RSO - ACEing Autism

The mission of ACEing Autism is “to help children with autism to grow, develop and benefit from social connections and fitness through affordable tennis programming, uniquely meeting individual needs while filling a national void for this growing and underserved population”. This club will run one 5-8 week session per academic semester where student volunteers will run sessions for kids with autism under 18 from the local communities. Depending on interest and demand from families, ACEing Autism may run two one-hour sessions each week with two different age groups. During the sessions, kids will learn tennis skills such as volleying, forehands, and backhands while engaging with student volunteers and other kids. Outside of these sessions, club meetings will be held to build engagement and teamwork among student volunteers, plan fundraisers, and discuss other club-related matters. The philosophy of ACEing autism is “to be the preeminent thought leader on how tennis and sport develops children with autism spectrum disorder by reaching 50% of the 1M+ families in the autism community and helping them become aware of ACEing Autism and impact a greater percentage of the population reached with ACEing’s unique programming.”
