RSO - J Street U at UMass Amherst

We are the UMass Amherst chapter of the national J Street U student movement dedicated to offering students educational programs designed to enhance their understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

To further engage students in this crucial issue, we offer weekly opportunities for students to hear a variety of perspectives, to explore their personal relationships with this topical issue, and to make their voices heard. We work to build a community that is committed to furthering dialogue on this issue. 

Our meetings our completely open forum. All opinions, backgrounds, and knowledge levels welcome. Our only rule is to listen and respect every voice brought to the table. 

J Street U's mission is to promote peace, democracy, and dialogue across the political spectrum of the Israeli Palestinian conflict. We are of the strong believe that this issue has become incredibly polarized, often leaving students without a space to hear from others, be heard from others, and to genuinely learn something. There are always valuable perspectives beyond your own, and we believe that engaging with them will deepen your understanding of this intense and deeply personal issue. In turn, this will move us towards the path to peace.
